Spokane Valley Fire Department – Commissioners discussed honoring deceased firefighter George Sly with a plaque in the new administration building. They heard an update on construction plans for Station 6. Chief Mike Thompson reported that the department’s L&I rates were up sharply: 23.7 percent for mechanics, 24.92 percent for firefighters and 5.7 percent for administrative staff.
