Am I seeing double, or do the last 2 paragraphs seem redundant?

Man oh man… the tragedies that happen on holidays….

Such a sad loss of a young life…two lives actually - since the suspect just ruined his life…
    *sigh*

Seems to be no shortage of holiday tragedies… the 5 in the fatal fire in Stamford, the 7 shot by Santa in Texas, the 2 in the crash west of Spokane… and there are countless others that didn’t get press. Too bad somebody can’t call some sort of moratorium on tragedy, for just a day or two…

At least this article didn’t interview local residents who said St. Maries is such a quiet community and things like this don’t happen there. Wasn’t it just a few months ago that some guy was murdered and burned in a barn? Benewah County is really something with the sheriff who won’t talk to the media and the jail’s repurposed spiral staircase serving as a fire escape slide for people who chisel out the crumbly mortar in the brick-walled cells. The Inland NW has more than its share of local color and the sad losses of life that go with it.

Zelda, St. Maries IS a quiet community and things “normally” dont happen like this. But i can also say the same for other communities. No one has ever stated that these things NEVER happen here. Our sherrifs have a little more respect for our residents and families dealing with these tragedies unlike some others and would rather stay silent for the grievers sake. And yes our town has issues (the jails condition) among with others but what other town can afford to make theirs perfect.

Just stating some facts. Now warm your heart up and start acting like a mature adult. Thats assuming you are an adult of course.
