Roundup: Coeur d’Alene girls reach title game

Sydney Williams totaled 17 points, 10 rebounds and three assists Wednesday as Coeur d’Alene defeated Lake City 51-32 in the semifinals of the Holiday Inn-vitational at North Idaho College.

Madison Sumner started the second half for CdA (10-2) and ignited the defense with four steals.

CdA will meet Federal Way (Wash.), a 61-52 winner over Davis, at 6 tonight for the title. The teams also met for last year’s championship, with the Vikings rallying to defeat the Eagles.

Lake City (7-5) will play Davis of Yakima at 3 p.m. for third place.

Post Falls (7-4) will play Skyline for the consolation at noon after defeating Lapwai 71-32.

Nonleague

Central Valley 54, Richland 32: Brooke Gallaway’s 14 points led three players in double figures, and Katie Estey hit three 3-pointers on the way to 13 points as the Bears (7-0) turned back the host Bombers. Richland finished 3 for 23 on 3-point attempts.

Reardan tournament

Reardan 63, Columbia 31: Kelsey Moos and Katy Burge combined for 35 points and 21 rebounds as the host Indians (8-0) defeated the Lions (8-1) in a matchup of undefeated teams. Moos added five steals for the Indians, who will meet Almira/Coulee-Hartline at 5:50 tonight for the title. The Lions will play Chewelah at 2:30 in the consolation.

ACH 66, Chewelah 14: Madeline Isaak scored 14 points in the second quarter and scored all 25 of her points in three quarters to carry the Warriors (6-1) past the Cougars (2-6). Isaak finished 5 of 7 on 3-pointers.

Rosalia tournament

Rosalia 52, Wilbur-Creston 29: Briann Maley had 20 points and nine rebounds to guide the host Spartans (8-0) past the Wildcats (2-3). Rosalia’s Maddy St. John added seven rebounds. Alex Potts and Mason Jaeger had nine rebounds apiece for W-C. Rosalia will play Davenport at 4 p.m. today for the title. W-C and Asotin will meet at 1 p.m. in the consolation.

Freeman tournament

Freeman 53, St. Maries 13: Alyssa Maine scored 12 of her 19 points in the third quarter and added four assists as the host Scotties (8-0) defeated the Lumberjacks (2-5) in the title game. Molly McIntyre added 10 rebounds for Freeman. St. Maries finished with 22 turnovers.

West Valley 44, Lakeland 37: Cassie Finn scored eight of her 11 points in the first half and the Eagles (3-4) held on in the consolation game after the Hawks (7-6) closed within two points with 1 1/2 minutes left. Lakeland’s Toni Tapplin had six steals and combined with Kasey Derby for 18 rebounds.

Timberlake tournament

East Valley 53, Timberlake 45: Erin Wallman’s 12 points led balanced scoring as the Knights (3-4) beat the host Tigers (6-4) at Spirit Lake. Timberlake’s Kara Wenstrom scored 23 points.

Kamiah 49, Bonners Ferry 33: The Kubs outrebounded the Badgers 42-28 on the way to the win. Aubree Wasmer of Bonners Ferry had 11 rebounds and six steals.

Chelan tournament

Lake Roosevelt 40, Cascade (Leavenworth) 36: Roweena Antone had eight rebounds and six blocked shots, and Jada Desautel added six rebounds, five assists and three steals as the Raiders (3-2) defeated the Kodiaks. LR will meet the host Goats at 6 tonight for the title.
