In brief: In Brief: Ballots on CV bond face mailing deadline

CENTRAL VALLEY – Ballots must be postmarked by Tuesday for the special election that will decide the Central Valley School District’s construction bond. Ballots also can be dropped off at CenterPlace, 2426 N. Discovery Place, the Spokane Valley branch of the County Library, 12004 E. Main Ave. and the Liberty Lake Library, 23123 E. Mission Ave.

The $69.6 million bond will build a new elementary school, expand and renovate four elementary schools and Evergreen Middle School, plus improve the security systems in buildings districtwide. The district expects $32.8 million of state matching funds.

If approved, taxpayers will see an increase of 65 cents per $1,000 in assessed property value in 2012.
