Lewiston girls qualify for 5A state tournament

Savannah Blinn scored a game-high 17 points, Karlee Wilson hit three 3-pointers and added 11 points as host Lewiston (19-3) edged Lake City 52-50 Tuesday to win the Idaho 5A Region I tournament title and advance to the state tourney.

The Timberwolves (16-6), led by 12 points from Sydney Butler, led by one at the end of the third quarter.

LC will play Coeur d’Alene at 7 p.m. Friday with the winner advancing to state.

Coeur d’Alene 75, Post Falls 52: Carli Rosenthal tallied 18 points, seven rebounds and four assists and the host Vikings (17-5) had four players score in double figures, eliminating the Trojans (8-14) with the win.

Caelyn Orlandi added 16 points for CdA, hitting four 3-pointers.

District 7 1B

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 68, Cusick 19: Madeline Isaak led all scorers with 18 points, Nikki Osborne added 17 points and 10 rebounds and the host Warriors (19-2) took a 42-7 lead at halftime and cruised to a win against the Panthers (6-13). ACH will play Wellpinit at 3:45 p.m. Saturday in Deer Park.

Columbia 71, Valley Christian 19: Krista Colvin had 23 points, seven rebounds and five assists and the host Lions (22-1) scored 44 points in the first half to pull away from the Panthers (8-12) early in Hunters. Elizabeth Larrew added 16 points for the Lions, who will play Selkirk at 2 p.m. Saturday in Deer Park.

Wellpinit 53, Wilbur-Creston 21: Lauren Flett scored 19 points and Niquie Ali added 10 points as the host Redskins (14-9) cruised against the Wildcats (8-12). Wilbur-Creston will play Cusick at Deer Park at 2 p.m. Saturday in a loser-out game.

Selkirk 51, Odessa-Harrington 43: Courtney Holter and Jaimi Adams each had 12 points and the Rangers (17-6) held off the host Titans (11-10). Selkirk went on a 10-0 run to close the first half.

Bi-County 2B

Reardan 80, Davenport 41: The Indians (18-2, 16-0) had four players score in double figures, led by 16 from Chantel Heath and 13 from Kelsey Moos, beating the visiting Gorillas (8-12, 7-9). The Indians finished league play as the No. 1 seed in the District 7 1B tournament, earning a first-round bye. Davenport will play Kettle Falls in its first game.

Northwest Christian 44, Kettle Falls 28: Bryanna Bailey tallied 12 points and eight rebounds and Amelia Fairburn hauled in 11 boards as the Crusaders (12-8, 10-6) went on a 17-8 run in the fourth quarter to put the Bulldogs (13-7, 11-5) away in Colbert. The Crusaders will play Davenport in its first district game Saturday at Mead at noon.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 49, Liberty 38: Heather Whitmore scored 21 of the visiting Broncos’ (9-11, 7-9) 49 points to lead them to a win over the Lancers (6-14, 5-11). Calley Janson led the Lancers with 14 points.

St. George’s 40, Springdale 32: Brenna Russell scored seven of her 15 points in the fourth quarter and the Dragons (3-17, 3-13) knocked off the host Chargers (0-20, 0-16). The teams will meet again in the first round of the district tournament Thursday at St. George’s.

District 9 1B

Garfield-Palouse 49, Kahlotus 16: Kaycie Adair notched 14 points and five assists and Madi Woltering scored eight with eight rebounds as the host Vikings (8-12) crushed the Koyotes in a district play-in game. The Vikings will play St. John-Endicott at 6 p.m. today.

Central Wash 2B

Lake Roosevelt 55, Oroville 25: Roweena Antone scored 16 points and Jada Desautel added 10 points as the host Raiders (12-7, 9-2) went on a 13-1 run in the fourth quarter to finish off the Hornets (8-8, 6-5) in Coulee Dam.

Idaho 4A Region I

Moscow 39, Lakeland 31: Kylie Gorton scored 11 points and the host Bears (7-15) extended their postseason lives with a win over the Hawks (12-11). The Bears outscored Lakeland 23-10 in the second half to erase a five-point halftime deficit. They will host the Hawks again Thursday in a winner-to-state game.
