Religion Notebook: Barn dance, silent auction planned

The Green Bluff Community United Methodist Church Center will present a Roof Raisin’ Barn Dance and Silent Auction on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Green Bluff Grange, 9809 E. Green Bluff Road, in Colbert.

The event, a fundraiser for the center to get a new roof, will include square dancing, line dancing, mixers and more.

It is free to attend, but the church is asking for donations for the roof.

Refreshments will be served. Everyone should bring snacks to share.

More dancing

The Unity Center of North Spokane, 4123 E. Lincoln Road, will present “Hearts on Fire: A Fabulous Evening of Nightclub Style Music and Dancing” Saturday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Music will be provided by the Michael Robinson Trio, which also includes Michael Twitchell and Nikki Boures.

The event is free and sweet treats will be available for purchase.

Workshops and lectures

Radha Yoga Center will present Swami Radhananda, spiritual director of Yasodhara Ashram and Radha for a series of talks and a workshop.

Radhananda will share readings from her book, “Carried by a Promise.”

She will be at Eastern Washington University today from noon to 1 p.m. to lecture on “Women and Spiritual Life.”

Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., she will be at the Radha Yoga Center, 406 S. Coeur d’Alene St., for a workshop, “Yogic Tools for Transformation.”
