Park dream no nightmare

The McEuen remodel is a dream, imagined by creative, intelligent, hardworking people. Like most dreams, it’s ambitious, possibly unrealistic and unaffordable, but maybe not. The plan was intended as a starting point for discussion, not the end.

I’ve been surprised at the heated rhetoric with dire predictions of unemployment, bankruptcy and threats to public employees.

If some or all of the plan ever makes the big leap from dream to reality, I’m confident there will be baseball parks around town, a boat launch near downtown and no more changes than we can afford. In the meantime, take a deep breath and dream a little.
