Lassman brought light
A bright light that embraced us with love and inspiration went out Wednesday night in Spokane with the passing of Eva Lassman.
Despite a personal tragedy as a Holocaust survivor, which is unimaginable to us, Eva chose a path in life to tell her story with compassion, but always with a message of hope and a reminder that we still live in a world where people do care for one another and stand up to the ugly face of hate.
Those of us who were touched by her – and especially the hundreds of children she spoke to about her life – will carry in our hearts her challenge to us that we must never forget, but must also learn to forgive. Thank you, Eva!
