Four CC Spokane men score in double figures in win over Walla Walla

Preston Wynne led four players in double figures with 17 points and Chaz Johnson hit two free throws with 4.2 second left Wednesday as Community Colleges of Spokane (17-7, 9-3 NWAACC) edged Walla Walla 80-77 at Spokane Falls CC.

Johnson added seven assists, DeAngelo Jones scored 16 points and Danny Marshall had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Sasquatch, who held on when the Warriors (13-10, 6-6) missed a late 3-pointer.

Women’s basketball

Shiann Dreadfulwater finished with 19 points and five assists as Walla Walla (17-6, 8-4 NWAACC) upset first-place CC Spokane (20-4, 10-2) 83-69 at SFCC.

Korrie Bourn scored 27 points, hitting 10 of 19 field goals, and Brooke Randall added 24 points, making 10 of 12 from the line, for the Sasquatch, who have already qualified for the NWAACC playoffs.

Bowling

Spokane’s Lilac Lanes will be the site for the Washington State Bowling Proprietors’ Association State High School Varsity Bowling Championships on Saturday (1 p.m.) and Sunday (9 a.m.). Admission is free.

Twenty-six boys teams will compete in three divisions along with four girls teams at Lilac Lanes, while 53 singles entries will be at North Bowl.

Shadle Park and West Valley are competing in the top boys division. Defending champ Shadle is in the girls competition.
