Roundup: Moore scores 38 to lead Purdue to upset of Ohio State

E’Twaun Moore scored a career-high 38 points to lead No. 11 Purdue past No. 2 Ohio State 76-63 on Sunday, in West Lafayette, Ind..

Moore tied a career high with seven 3-pointers. He surpassed 2,000 points during a flurry of 13 in the final 3:49 of the first half, becoming the fifth player in school history to reach the milestone.

JaJuan Johnson added 13 points and six rebounds for Purdue (22-5, 11-3 Big Ten).

Jared Sullinger scored 25 points for the Buckeyes (25-2, 12-2).

Cal 76, UCLA 72 (OT)

Jorge Gutierrez scored 34 points, Markhuri Sanders-Frison had 12 points and California held on to beat UCLA 76-72 in overtime in Berkeley, Calif., to snap a four-game losing streak in thrilling fashion.

The Bears blew a 12-point lead and overcame Malcolm Lee’s stunning buzzer-beater at the end of regulation to finally snap their skid. Star freshman Allen Crabbe returned after missing the last two games with a concussion to score eight points, grab seven rebounds and help Cal (14-13, 7-8 Pac-10) stay above .500.

Lee had 19 points for the Bruins (19-8, 10-4).

Duke 79, Georgia Tech 57

Nolan Smith scored 28 points and No. 5 Duke made its case to return to the top of the national rankings by routing Georgia Tech 79-57 in Durham, N.C.

Kyle Singler added 15 points and Ryan Kelly had 10 for the Blue Devils (25-2, 12-1 ACC). A technical foul on coach Mike Krzyzewski inspired the overwhelming run that carried Duke to its sixth straight win and 10th in a row in conference play.

Iman Shumpert and Moe Miller had 13 points apiece, but they couldn’t keep the Yellow Jackets (11-15, 3-9) from losing their sixth straight conference game.
