Group dropped campaign plans after unfavorable court ruling
Human Life of Washington did not launch a campaign against assisted suicide in 2008; the organization filed a lawsuit arguing that state disclosure laws violated its First Amendment rights, but a judge denied an injunction against the disclosure, and Human Life didn’t go ahead with the campaign. The facts of the lawsuit were misstated in a story Wednesday. The organization’s CEO Dan Kennedy also disputes the characterization of the group in that story, saying it is nonsectarian.
