City asks residents to comply with snow parking rules

Spokane is asking residents to move their cars off of arterial streets to make way for plows. The city declared a Stage 2 snow emergency, which means that crews will begin plowing residential streets after arterials are cleared. City spokeswoman Marlene Feist said the city has executed its contracts with the operators of 10 private graders. “They are arriving,” Feist said. That’s on top of about 50 city-owned trucks with plows and graders working the streets. Along residential streets, the city asks that cars be parked only on the side of the street that has even-numbered addresses. Feist said crews are beginning to work in residential hilly areas. Those are routes 20 and above. (The city’s street plow route map is attached to this story via the document link above.)
