In brief: Auntie’s plans Seuss’ birthday celebration

 

RIVERSIDE – Dr. Seuss loved books and his birthday will be celebrated on March 5 by with Seusserific activities and reading stories at Auntie’s Bookstore.

Kids, moms, dads, friends and star-bellied sneeches can join in the birthday festivities at Aunties on 402 W. Main Ave, and in the Skywalk at 808 W. Main Ave. at 11 a.m.

Camps needed for annual summer guide

SPOKANE COUNTY – The Spokesman-Review is compiling a list of camps for its annual summer camp guide, which will appear in print April 30 and online all spring and summer at www.spokesman.com /summer-camps.

If you have a camp you would like listed in this section, please include its description, location, dates of operations, recommended ages, any cost, contact information and any other details readers should know.

Listings can be e-mailed to summercamps@spokesman.com or mailed to The Spokesman-Review, 999 W. Riverside, Spokane WA 99201, attn: Summer Camps.

All submissions must be received by the end of the day March 30.

Camp Fire candy sales are under way

SPOKANE COUNTY – Camp Fire USA is selling candy for its annual fundraiser. Camp Fire girls and boys are selling favorites, such as mint patties and Almond Roca, locally through March 6.

Proceeds from the sale will support Camp Fire kids on their way to summer camp.
