Washington State Cougars outlook

RECORD: 17-10 overall, 7-8 Pac-10

COMING UP: Sunday at Washington, 7 p.m. (FSN)

OUTLOOK: When WSU was finished with its 87-80 upset of then-18th-ranked Washington last month, the Cougars were 5-4 in conference, firmly in fourth place and the future was enticing. Six games later WSU has won just twice and seventh place – with its first-round game in the Pac-10 tournament – beckons. The then-first-place Huskies (10-5, 19-8) haven’t done all that much better, dropping to third after a three-game road losing streak. But this game is in Seattle, where UW is undefeated in 13 games and WSU hasn’t won since 2008. Isaiah Thomas (16.7 points and his Pac-10-leading 5.8 assists per game) makes the Huskies go.
