Lewis and Clark grad Seidensticker leads Montana State’s women past EWU

Lyndi Seidensticker (Lewis and Clark High) scored a game-high 19 points Thursday as Montana State (16-11, 10-3) rolled past Eastern Washington 70-56 in Big Sky Conference women’s basketball play at Bozeman.

Seidensticker hit 5 of 8 3-pointers for the Bobcats, who were 8 of 14 as a team.

Brianne Ryan scored 14 points and Julie Piper had 15 rebounds for the Eagles (12-14, 7-6), who shot 22 percent from the floor in the second half.

Eastern is tied for fifth place with Idaho State.

Fresno State 77, Idaho 51: Taja Edwards scored 13 points and four teammates scored 12 apiece as the Bulldogs (20-7, 11-2 Western Athletic Conference) took advantage of 27 turnovers to ease past the Vandals (13-13, 6-8) at Fresno, Calif.

Idaho had 17 first-half turnovers while falling behind by 15 points.

Yinka Olorunnife had her 13th double-double of the season for Idaho, with 16 points and 10 rebounds, and became the team’s all-time career rebounder (1,011), passing Alli Nieman’s 1,005.

North Idaho 88, Colorado Northwestern 61: Tugce Canitez, Camille Reynolds and Chantel Divilbiss combined for 52 points on 23-for-36 shooting from the floor as the Cardinals (25-3, 11-3 Scenic West Athletic Conference) improved their home record to 9-0 with a win over the Spartans (7-21, 1-13).

Amy Warbrick added 12 points and Kama Griffitts 11 for the Cardinals, who scored 28 points off 24 CNCC turnovers. NIC’s bench outscored the Spartans 38-7.

Shameka Smith led CNCC with 19 points.
