Israel, target of convenience

It’s interesting to note, once again, the hypocrisy of the European Union, U.N., international “social activists,” and left-of-center (literally and figuratively) media types with regard to the Middle East.

While Arab countries burn and dissidents are crushed in Iran (and China), no great humanitarian acts or Security Council resolutions are put forth. Indeed, horrific harassment of women in Egypt and shootings of patients/doctors in Libya seem to have escaped attention. But lo and behold, there’s always time to go after Israel – this time with a multiple nation charge (Spokesman, Feb. 17) against a small country building homes on less than 2 percent of the land lost by Jordan in the 1967 war.

The previous Wikileaks indicating widespread fear of Iran’s Islamic revolutionaries and the current pan-Arab uprisings all confirm what the E.U., U.N. and other prejudiced “analysts” refuse to admit: Israel is the only real democracy in the region and the Palestinian conflict is a side issue to world peace and stable oil prices.

The Middle East cauldron will only worsen as the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, Hezbollah and their benefactor Iran become unfettered.
