Sympathy has limits
I read with interest the article “Legal refugees feel pinch …” (Feb. 13). Now I do feel sorry for people who feel the pinch. However, you come to America, can’t speak the language, go on welfare and expect a free ride.
Granted, our country is made of immigrants. Our grandparents worked in the factories, farming to scratch out a living to better themselves and family. Now, you come here, don’t have a job, never served our country in the military, paid taxes, and want to live off the backs of hard-working Americans. Why should you get anything?
If you come to America, get a job, serve our country, be a good citizen, raise your family – welcome. Come here for a free ride, shame on you.
