Idaho boys basketball: Trojans eliminate Bengals

 Marcus Colbert hit 4 of 7 from 3-point range and scored a game-high 25 points and Post Falls (19-4) held Lewiston’s leading scorer, Matt Kalbfleisch to just four points, beating the Bengals (11-11) 59-43 in the loser-out game of the Idaho 5A Region I tournament Saturday in Post Falls.

Connor Hill added 14 points and Michael Hillman had nine rebounds to help push the Trojans through to the State 5A tournament at the Idaho Center in Nampa.

The Trojans will play Borah Thursday at 8 p.m. in the tourney opener. Coeur d’Alene will open with Eagle at 1:15 p.m.

3A District I

St. Maries 64, Kellogg 61: The Lumberjacks (18-5) eliminated the Wildcats (15-7), 64-61, to advance to the State 3A tournament in Rathdrum. The Lumberjacks will play Sugar-Salem in the first round of the tournament Thursday at 6:15 in Meridian.

1A Division I

Clearwater Valley 64, Lakeside 55: Eugene HeavyRunner scored 24 points and Shane Owens added 19 as the Rams (16-7) eliminated the Knights (12-7) with their win in St. Maries. Andrew Boyd led the Knights with 15.
