Fuel spill closes one lane of I90 in Idaho

One lane of westbound Interstate 90 remains blocked at the Rose Lake exit, Idaho State Police report, because of a jack-knifed semi and a fuel spill earlier today. William K. Laymon, 44, of Jasper, Tenn., was westbound in a 1999 Peterbilt semi tractor-trailer on I90 about 4:30 a.m. He lost control of the rig in the slush and ice as he tried to round a right-hand curve, police said. The truck jack-knifed and hit the guardrail, puncturing a fuel tank. About 130 gallons of fuel spilled, and the Department of Environmental Quality is on the scene to clean up the area, ISP said. Laymon was transported to Kootenai Medical Center for treatment of injuries he sustained in the wreck.
