Idaho Vandals basketball outlook

RECORD: 7-6 overall, 1-1 WAC

COMING UP: Tonight at Hawaii, 9:30 PST; Saturday at San Jose State, 7:30 p.m.

OUTLOOK: The Vandals have several daunting WAC road trips – based on travel time alone – and this is one of them. They left early Tuesday morning for Honolulu, where they’ll take on a Hawaii team that is 8-1 at home but only 1-4 on the mainland in Gib Arnold’s first year at the helm. Meanwhile, UI coach Don Verlin is searching for more consistency from the Vandals, who are 2-3 since their early December tournament in Moscow. Last week’s 30-point home win over Louisiana Tech was Idaho’s most lopsided conference victory since 1999, when it was a member of the Big West.
