Political timeout needed

C’mon now, S-R! We’re just recovering from the most disgusting electoral campaign in living memory and we’re hoping for a decent respite, and you had to blow it with a front-page article on Jan. 1 (“As 2011 dawns, election of 2012 looms”).

Let the politicians burble in their own juices, figuring out ways to cut their opponents’ throats. You and I need to clean out our minds of the debris left from the last election and get ready to defend ourselves from the oncoming attacks against all reason that constitute politics today.
