St. Gregorios to celebrate Julian calendar Christmas

St. Gregorios Syrian Orthodox Parish, 2803 N. Lincoln St., will celebrate Christmas according to the Julian calendar today.

Evening prayers begin at 9 p.m. and the Holy Qurbana will begin around 10 p.m. A potluck dinner will follow the services.

St. David’s Episcopal Church, 7315 N. Wall St., will present a Celtic service today at 7 p.m.

The theme for the service is Manifesting Divinity and will celebrate the Epiphany and include a Christian service of communion, sung chants, Celtic prayers and music.

A potluck reception will follow the service.

• The Spokane Buddhist Temple, 927 S. Perry St., will present an introduction to Buddhism on Sunday at 9 a.m.

The lecture will be followed by a Buddhist service at 10:30 a.m. which will include a special children’s Dharma talk during the service for children in kindergarten through the ninth grade.

• The Center for Spiritual Living, 2825 E. 33rd Ave., is offering a 16-week course, “Conscious Evolution,” Tuesdays from 6 to 8:30 p.m. starting Jan. 11.

The program will discuss moving beyond your limitations, setting intentions and moving forward as well as learning the spiritual tools to support you now and in the future.

Covenant United Methodist Church, 15515 N. Gleneden Drive, will present the movie “Lord, Save Us from Your Followers,” a documentary film by Dan Merchant, Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
