Defense spending overlooked

The USA budget is deeply in the red and is predicted to be there for decades. Yet, have any of you read or heard of the approach of just cutting the defense budget?

As of January 2010, the U.S. military budget was almost $1 trillion, or about $1.98 million per minute! OK, we need defense, but the U.S. defense budget has been reported as larger than the rest of the world combined! Why can’t it be cut? I have not read or heard that question asked, have you? Should U.S. taxpayers like you know why we need to spend that much?
