Chase awards taking nominations

The Chase Youth Commission is taking nominations for the 2011 Chase Youth Award.

Award categories highlight strengths of character valued by the Spokane community including community involvement, courage, creativity, diversity, leadership, environment and personal achievement.

Awards will be given to individuals and groups in three divisions including elementary school, grades K-6; middle school, grades 7-8; and high school, grades 9-12. In addition, one outstanding adult will receive the Jim Chase Asset Builder Award, which honors a special adult committed to building developmental assets in youth. 

The 25th annual Chase Youth Awards will be held at the Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox on March 13.

The deadline for nominations is Jan. 21.
