In brief: Transportation study open house will be Tuesday

The Spokane Regional Transportation Council has developed draft recommendations for the West Plains-Spokane International Airport Transportation Study and will host an open house on Tuesday at Northern Quest Resort and Casino, 100 N. Hayford Road, Airway Heights, in the Kalispel Ballroom, from 4 to 7 p.m.

The recommendations will address public concerns about roadways within the study area, improvements to transit service, safety improvements and safety issues for bicyclists and pedestrians.

Shelter grants available

SPOKANE – The Spokane Human Services Department is currently seeking applicants for Emergency Shelter Grant funds. The city anticipates that it will receive $163,000 in Emergency Shelter Grant Program funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
