More screaming needed in EV debate

Relative East Valley newcomer Superintendent John Glenewinkel has real chutzpah to suggest such a radical realignment from the current K-5 and 6-8 model to K-8; especially since EVSD has been such a model of fiscal and leadership stability in recent decades. Thank goodness for those who have the time and energy to launch this anti-perestroika campaign as there is simply and unequivocally no doubt that they are 100 percent right and Glenewinkel and his cronies are 100 percent wrong even though they might honestly think older kids would behave much better in a K-8 setting as an accountable example to younger kids in a more cost effective setting.

I know that I try to teach my kids that when someone disagrees the thing to do is yell like a banshee until one gets one’s way as that is what public discourse is all about. Hey, if that school board in Panama City, Fla. and that congresswoman in Arizona had only listened to the shrill voices then I am sure that everything would have been fine as there is no way that acrimonious rhetoric could open the door to unthinkable violence. In particular, those grossly overpaid school board apparatchiks deserve to be screamed at as it certainly isn’t like they are serving out of a sincere desire to help kids for almost no compensation. Indeed, if these concerned citizens don’t get their way they should organize a campaign against the levy as there is no better way to teach these insensitive bureaucrats a lesson. After all, failing a levy wouldn’t hurt the kids at all and it is certainly all about the kids – not the adults.

It is good to see that the spirit of grassroots civic civility is alive and well in our country.
