Solidify GOP team

In response to your Jan. 8 editorial I assure you, the duly-elected Republican precinct committee officers of the 4th District take the responsibility of filling the vacated state Senate seat of Bob McCaslin very seriously. Bob has served the people of Spokane County well, and we are grateful!

I can think of no one more qualified, energetic and committed to public service in that district than current Rep. Matt Shea. He has worked hard to protect the fragile businesses in our region and state from over-regulation and excessive taxation. He has gained national prominence as a leading spokesman for states’ rights.

Bumping Matt up to the Senate to join Sens. Bob Morton, Mark Schoesler and Michael Baumgartner is the best thing we Republicans can do! What a superb team they will make!

Former chairman, Spokane GOP
