Blanchette column enticed Eastern fans

John Blanchette deserves praise for his column in December prior to the EWU-Villanova football game in which he chided the EWU fan base for not filling the stands for home playoff games and even asked Montana fans who know their football to come on over (and many did). Not only were the stands in Cheney full on Dec 17, but there were at least 5,000 folks in Texas wearing the red and black. We even saw some Montana fans in Frisco (Texas), but they buy tickets each year because they expect their team to be there. I have already bought my tickets to Frisco for next year because EWU should be there again. If not, I will root for Montana in the playoffs like they rooted for us this year.

Let’s pack Reese Court in Cheney on Friday at 6 p.m. to congratulate the entire EWU team – players, coaches, faculty, staff and fans. Go Eagles!
