A flash flood warning is in effect for the Flower Creek drainage in the Libby, Mont., area.
The National Weather Service issued the warning for central Lincoln County of northwestern Montana until 1 p.m. today Pacific time.
Law enforcement officials this morning reported flash flooding across the drainage due to ice jams breaking on Flower Creek below Flower Creek Dam. Some residential areas and Balsam Creek over Flower Creek are affected by the flooding, official said. Local law enforcement has enacted voluntary evacuations for people living along Flower Creek and South Nevada Avenue into Libby. Shelters are being opened in Libby.
