Tax on benefit reasonable

Regarding the letter from Joe Speranzi (Jan. 10), he is absolutely right when he says that the “very rich” should pay taxes on all their income.

On the other hand, as a 90-year-old Social Security recipient, I have received far more in Social Security income than I ever contributed.

I think my Social Security income should be taxable just as my mother’s California teacher’s retirement after her own contribution has been exceeded.
