Three injured in Cataldo crash; infant escapes injury

Three people were injured in a two-car collision on Interstate 90 about 11 a.m. today near Cataldo. Kayla A. Edmonson, 23, of Cataldo, was driving a four-door Saturn eastbound on I-90 when she struck the median barrier. Her vehicle slid sideways into the passing lane and was struck by Gretchen K. Thomas, 36, of Post Falls, who was driving a Ford Thunderbird. Edmonson was taken to Kootenai Medical Center before being transferred to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. Doctors are still evaluating her condition. Edmonson had an 11-month-old in the car but the infant was uninjured. Thomas and her passenger, David J. Rodgers, of Post Falls, were also taken to Kootenai Medical Center, where they were treated and released.
