Greyhounds run over Medical Lake

Shelby Cheslek continued to be a force in the paint for Pullman, scoring 25 points to go with 17 rebounds, as the Greyhounds (8-6, 6-1) continued to strengthen their hold on the top spot of the Great Northern League with a 61-42 victory over host Medical Lake (5-10, 1-6) Friday.

Natalie Pendell had 14 points and 14 boards for ML.

West Valley 48, Deer Park 40: Hannah Love tallied a team-high 17 points and the Eagles (11-3, 5-2) held the host Stags (4-11, 0-7) to just four points in the opening quarter and held onto their four-point halftime lead to remain a game back of first-place Pullman. Tessa Heins had 18 points to lead the Stags.

Clarkston 54, Cheney 47: Jamie Weisner led all scorers with 21 points and added 15 rebounds and four assists, K.C. McConnell added 19 points and 10 rebounds and after scoring two points in the opening quarter, the Bantams (10-4, 5-2) rebounded to score 23 in the second taking a four-point lead over the visiting Blackhawks (7-7, 3-4) at halftime. The Bantams held the lead in the second half, despite 17 points from Laikyn Brophy for Cheney.

Northeast A

Freeman 57, Chewelah 17: MacKenzie Taylor finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds, Molly McIntyre added 11 points, 10 boards and six steals and the Scotties (15-1, 6-0) handled the visiting Cougars (4-12, 1-5) with ease, holding them scoreless in the first and third quarters.

Lakeside (WA) 50, Riverside 29: Michaela Brittos led a balanced scoring attack by the host Eagles (11-5, 4-2) with 10 points and Lexi Zappone and Jamie Campbell each added nine points and seven rebounds, helping down the Rams (3-12, 0-6) in Nine Mile Falls. Courtney Davis had 13 points to lead the Rams.

Bi-County 2B

Northwest Christian 55, Springdale 29: Danne Dami contributed 14 points and added five assists and Bryanna Bailey added 12 points to lead the host Crusaders (8-6, 6-4) to a win over the Chargers (0-13, 0-10). Hannah Dietzen had eight points, 11 rebounds and three steals for NWC. Nicole Presho led the Chargers with 14 points.

Kettle Falls 55, Davenport 46: Nikka Yankus scored 16 points to go with six rebounds, Samantha Charlton added 15 points, six assists and six steals and the host Bulldogs (8-6, 6-4) outscored the Gorillas (5-8, 4-5) 17-8 in the fourth quarter to complete the comeback after trailing by three at halftime. Miranda Mielke’s 21 points paced the Gorillas.

St. George’s 48, Liberty 41: Alex Wert led all scorers with 19 points and added 16 rebounds and Morgan Cambareri tallied 13 points and six boards as the Dragons (2-11, 2-7) upended the visiting Lancers (5-9, 4-6). Brittany Breidenbach had 17 points in the loss for the Lancers.

Colfax 62, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 30: Hannah Harazin finished with 13 points and the host Bulldogs (7-6, 7-2) shot a season-best 43 percent from the floor to handle the Broncos (6-8, 4-6). Amelia Bruya added 11 points for the Bulldogs, who scored 31 points off 35 turnovers.

Bi-County 1B

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 60, Valley Christian 18: Nikki Osborne poured in 16 points to go with 14 boards and the host Warriors (12-2, 3-0) defeated the Panthers (6-8, 1-3).

Wilbur-Creston 51, St. Michael’s 34: Maggie Douglas finished with a game-high 10 points and the Wildcats (7-7, 2-2) held the host Warriors (1-10, 0-3) to just 10 points in the first half.

Columbia 78, Cusick 51: JulieAnn and Elizabeth Larrew each finished with a game-high 21 points and Krista Colvin did a little of everything, scoring 14 points to go with seven assists, six steals and five boards as the host Lions (16-0, 9-0) built a 26-point lead at halftime in Hunters.

Wellpinit 72, Curlew 41: Lauren Flett notched 20 points and eight assists, Niquie Ali added 18 points and the Redskins (9-7, 5-3) scored 21 points off turnovers to bury the visiting Cougars (5-10, 2-7).

Southeast 1B

St. John-Endicott 54, Touchet 14: Erin Schuster scored 14 points, Emily Kucklick added 11 points and the host Eagles (13-1, 8-1) forced 41 turnovers and tallied 21 team steals to dismantle the Indians (3-11, 2-7).

Tekoa-Oakesdale 45, Garfield-Palouse 36: Alexandria Overton scored five of her 10 points in the fourth quarter and hit a 3-pointer to give the Nighthawks (7-8, 3-6) a five-point lead as T-O outscored the host Vikings (6-8, 3-6) 9-2 in the final frame.

Pomeroy 57, Rosalia 38: Karlie Martin scored 22 points and the host Pirates (11-2, 6-2) took a 20-5 lead over the Spartans (10-5, 5-4) after the first quarter and pulled away.

Colton 78, LaCrosse-Washtucna 18: Mollie Kramer led all scorers with 15 points and the Wildcats (13-1, 7-1) stayed one-half game back of SJE, cruising to a win over the visiting Tigercats (1-13, 0-8).

Central Wash 2B

Lake Roosevelt 63, Pateros 42: Jada Desautel and Dominique Pleasants each tallied 16 points and the visiting Raiders (8-6, 6-1) knocked off the Billygoats (6-7, 4-3) to retain first place in the league standings.
