Lakeside alone in 1st after victory

Connor Moffatt scored a game-high 20 points on 6-of-8 shooting, including four 3-pointers, and host Lakeside (9-7, 5-1) avenged its earlier loss to Riverside (8-7, 4-2) by winning 79-47 to take control of first place in the Northeast A Friday in Nine Mile Falls.

Ryan Gunderson added 15 points and Jake Widman chipped in nine points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles, who outscored the Rams 47-22 in the first half.

Freeman 68, Chewelah 58: Cody Unfred scored 21 points, Ben Kuiper added 18 points and the Scotties (8-8, 4-2) scored 20 points in the fourth quarter to outlast the visiting Cougars (4-12, 0-6). Tyler Monasmith led the Cougars with 15 points.

Newport 49, Colville 48: Jake Wiley scored 16 points and Spenser Douglas added 14 points and nine rebounds as the Grizzlies (9-7, 3-3) edged the visiting Indians (8-8, 2-4). Matt Hubbard and Alex Pond combined for 28 points and 21 rebounds for the Indians.

Great Northern

Pullman 65, Medical Lake 46: Corey Langerveld finished with 22 points and eight rebounds and Kalvin Johanson tallied 10 blocks to go with his four points as the Greyhounds (11-3, 5-2) held the host Cardinals (7-8, 1-6) scoreless for nearly 7 minutes between the second and third quarters to pull away. Kevin Fisher had 24 points to lead ML.

West Valley 59, Deer Park 31: Brady Bagby notched 13 points, Darian Vandermark added 10 points and the Eagles (12-2, 6-1) stayed a game back of Clarkston, handing the host Stags (4-11, 0-7) their seventh consecutive loss. The Eagles pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring DP 20-7.

Clarkston 64, Cheney 50: Tommy Sperry poured in 20 points, Trey Sobotta added 14 and the Bantams (13-1, 7-0) outscored the visiting Blackhawks (9-6, 3-4) 36-23 in the first half and held the lead the rest of the way. Parker Franklin hit three 3-pointers and tallied 13 points to lead Cheney.

Bi-County 2B

Davenport 70, Kettle Falls 37: Cole Evers scored 17 of his 21 points in the first half, helping the visiting Gorillas (7-6, 4-5) take a 39-17 lead at the break against the Bulldogs (1-13, 0-10). Joey Gunning added 12 points for the Gorillas. Luke Beardslee led KF with 11.

St. George’s 47, Liberty 23: Dexter Sienko tallied 12 points and eight rebounds and Karl Muelheims scored nine of his 14 points in the fourth quarter to help the Dragons (7-6, 6-3) put away the visiting Lancers (4-11, 2-8).

Northwest Christian 65, Springdale 47: Dakota Winward finished with 22 points and five assists and Kwinn Hanson scored nine of his 13 points during the host Crusaders’ (13-3, 10-0) 24-point first quarter. Kendall Peone led the Chargers (4-9, 2-8) with 15 points.

Colfax 66, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 46: Brandon Gfeller went 4 of 5 from the 3-point line and scored 11 of his 21 points in the third quarter as the Bulldogs (11-2, 8-1) outscored the visiting Broncos (7-7, 4-6) 22-15 to start the second half. Kyle Johnson added 11 of his 15 points in the first quarter for Colfax.

Bi-County 1B

St. Michael’s 67, Wilbur-Creston 60: Chris Shelley finished with 21 points, Gabe Durazo added 18 points and the host Warriors (2-8, 1-2) used a 21-9 edge in the first quarter to pull ahead early against the Wildcats (9-5, 1-3). Josh Tonasket led the Wildcats with 17 points.

Cusick 79, Columbia 47: Tyler Edwards scored 30 points, adding 10 assists and eight rebounds as the Panthers (12-4, 11-0) had four players score in double figures against the host Lions (2-14, 2-8) in Hunters. Louie and Derrick Bluff combined for 29 points and Ryan Sample scored 14 points for Cusick.

Wellpinit 84, Curlew 46: Drake Wynne scored 22 points, Greg Wynecoop added 14 points and 14 rebounds and the Redskins (13-4, 9-1) controlled the game from start to finish, scoring 48 first-half points against the visiting Cougars (6-9, 3-7). Kennedy Seyler added 14 points and nine assists for the Redskins.

Selkirk 55, Inchelium 30: Avery Miller and Hunter Enyeart combined for 29 points and the visiting Rangers (5-11, 4-6) outrebounded the Hornets (3-10, 2-8) 53-29, helping them go on a 23-7 run in the second half in their win. Enyeart added 12 rebounds and seven assists. Sam LeaderCharge led the Hornets with 12 points.

Southeast 1B

St. John-Endicott 43, Touchet 42: Ben Harrison scored a team-high 17 points and Cole McCanna scored the final bucket with 4 seconds remaining to lift the host Eagles (7-7, 5-4) to a last-second win over the Indians (3-11, 1-8). After trailing to start the fourth quarter, SJE scored the last 11 points of the game, capped by McCanna’s layup coming immediately following a steal of the inbounds pass.

Garfield-Palouse 53, Tekoa-Oakesdale 45: Blake Slocum scored a game-high 21 points and combined with Race Martin to go 8 of 9 from the free-throw line in the final minute to lead the Vikings (7-7, 5-4) over the visiting Nighthawks (4-11, 3-6).

Rosalia 63, Pomeroy 29: Nathan Richards finished with 20 points and D.J. Brown added nine points on three 3-pointers as the visiting Spartans (14-1, 9-0) took a 39-17 lead at halftime to crush the Pirates (2-11, 2-7).

Colton 73, LaCrosse-Washtucna 51: Jake Straughan scored 17 points with four 3-pointers, Jake Straughan added 15 points and five 3-pointers as the host Wildcats (10-5, 8-1) cruised to a win over the Tigercats (6-8, 3-6).

Central Wash 2B

Lake Roosevelt 71, Pateros 26: Ty Egbert dominated the paint, tallying 22 points, 21 rebounds and seven blocks for the Raiders (12-2, 7-0), who dominated the host Billygoats (10-5, 5-2) to take control of first place in the league standings. After allowing 13 points to Pateros in the first quarter, the Raiders allowed only 13 points the rest of the way.

Nonleague

Republic 46, Northport 42: Tyler Bowe and Clay Anderson combined for 23 points and the Tigers (6-10) outlasted the visiting Mustangs (8-7), barely hanging on for the win after leading 30-15 at halftime. Philip Johnson had 14 points for the Mustangs.
