Fairfield City Council – Bids have been opened for the 2010 Sewer Improvement Project and the apparent low bidder is S&L Underground at $89,770. The council voted to award a bid for new carpeting in the Community Center to Keystone Carpet for $6,866. The project will be paid for with impact funds paid by Wilbur Ellis. The council has been discussing for several weeks whether to impose a utility tax to raise money for street maintenance. A public hearing on the issue will be held during the Feb. 15 council meeting.

Rockford City Council – The council will be interviewing engineering firms for a two-year contract soon. A council retreat has been scheduled for Monday, Feb. 7, at 6 p.m. at Fire District 8’s Station 82, 12100 E. Palouse Highway. The meeting is open to the public.
