Letter: A great event

Bobby Brett deserves praise for the gift he gave to Spokane.

The first outdoor game in the Western Hockey League was a total success and a true gift from his heart.  I cannot imagine the hours or the financial cost it took to pull this event off.  He is a true visionary and community leader that Spokane is blessed to have.

The Spokane Chiefs and Spokane Indians organizations need to be applauded as well.  Countless hours were put in this past year and every detail was covered down to the ticket stub and poster (photo taken and printed that day) that were handed out to everyone as they exited Avista Stadium.

There may have been a few glitches along the way but those small problems didn’t seem to take any- thing away from the event.

Congratulations to the Spokane Chiefs team for a really exciting game and to the Kootenay Ice team for its gracious, although humbling, participation. As I watched the video of the game the next day, I wondered, as did the sportscasters, was this the last event of its kind, or was it just the beginning for Bobby Brett and his organizations?
