Evel Knievel’s last truck worth a bundle

BUTTE - The last vehicle registered to motorcycle daredevil Evel Knievel was sold for $100,000 at a weekend auction in Scottsdale, Ariz., but the vehicle will be staying in Butte.

Bill Rundle, longtime friend and manager of Knievel, tells The Montana Standard that Butte GM Auto Center owner Wayne Sterns had the winning bid on the 2002 Ford F-150 crew cab at the Barrett-Jackson Auction on Saturday night.

Rundle joked that Sterns will be the only Chevy dealer with a Ford in his showroom.

Knievel’s white truck, which has blue and red stripes, has about 18,000 miles on it.

Knievel died in November 2007 at the age of 69.

Where does the money go?

sponsored You’ve probably heard of co-ops: food co-ops, childcare co-ops, housing co-ops, energy co-ops.
