Mead driver hurt in roundabout crash

A Mead-area man was injured Sunday evening when he failed to negotiate a roundabout at Mount Spokane Park Drive and Bruce Road. Raymond J. Massender, 38, was taken to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center following the 7:20 p.m. accident. Washington State Patrol troopers said Massender was headed west on Mount Spokane Park Drive when he failed to turn through the roundabout and instead drove into the traffic control structure at the center of the intersection. The collision caused his 1990 Chevrolet pickup truck to end up in an adjacent field, troopers said. Massender was wearing a seat belt. The accident was under investigation, troopers said.
