Blackhawks pummel Eagles in GNL action

 

After losing the opening match of the night by a pin, the visiting Cheney Blackhawks (3-2) won six straight matches and nine of the next 10 to beat West Valley (2-4) 53-15 in their Great Northern League dual Tuesday.

In the biggest match of the night for the Blackhawks, Zac Corean (215 pounds) trailed Kyle White 5-3 with 15 seconds remaining in the third round. Corean earned a takedown and a three-point near fall as time expired to win 8-5, giving Cheney a 41-9 lead over the Eagles.

The win moved the Blackhawks into third place in the GNL standings, behind first place Deer Park (5-0) and East Valley (4-1).
