Cheney slips past Pullman

Parker Franklin scored 13 points and added six rebounds and Cheney (10-6, 4-4) pulled back to .500 in Great Northern League play with a 59-55 victory over visiting Pullman (12-4, 6-3) Tuesday, dropping the Greyhounds two games back of first-place Clarkston.

Corey Langerveld hit four 3-pointers and scored a game-high 26 points for the Greyhounds, who couldn’t overcome a five-point halftime deficit, allowing 28 second-half points by the Blackhawks.

Clarkston 57, Medical Lake 33: Brady Arnone led a balanced scoring attack for the Bantams (14-2, 8-1) tallying 13 points in their win over the host Cardinals (8-9, 2-7). Kevin Fisher finished with 16 points and five rebounds for ML. Clarkston shot 7 of 19 from 3-point range.

East Valley 67, Deer Park 46: Ronnie Jarvis notched 24 points, Jake Reynolds chipped in 19 and the host Knights (10-6, 3-5) opened up a 10-point lead after one quarter, outscoring the Stags (4-13, 0-9) 20-10. Luke Turner scored 12 points to lead the Stags.

Northeast A

Colville 61, Riverside 58: Matt Hubbard led all scorers with 29 points and added 12 rebounds and Alex Pond hit three 3-pointers, scoring 19 points, as the Indians (9-8, 3-4) held off a late run by the visiting Rams (8-8, 4-3) to earn the win. Jordan Wood scored 11 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter for the Rams.

Newport 61, Freeman 47: Four Grizzlies (10-7, 4-3) finished in double figures led by 14 points from Chaize Exkano, helping them beat the visiting Scotties (8-9, 4-3) to move into a three-way tie for second place in the league.

Bi-County 2B

Northwest Christian 63, St. George’s 36: Kwinn Hanson tallied six of his 16 points during a 21-point first quarter and the Crusaders (15-1, 12-0) won the first Battle for the Holy Grail against the Dragons (7-7, 6-4) in Colbert. Cole Ramey added 13 points and eight assists for NWC, while Dexter Sienko led the Dragons with 12 points.

Colfax 65, Reardan 46: Brandon Gfeller hit three 3-pointers and scored a game-high 20 points and the host Bulldogs (13-2, 10-1) shot 48.4 percent in the first half to take a 21-point lead against the Indians (8-7, 7-4).

Davenport 51, Liberty 44: Joey Gunning scored 11 points and hit a 3-pointer to halt a comeback by the Lancers (3-12, 2-9), lifting the Gorillas (8-6, 5-5) to the win in Spangle.

Panorama

Cusick 59, Inchelium 22: Louie Bluff went a perfect 7 of 7 from the field and scored 15 points to lead four Panther (13-5, 12-0) players in double figures in their win over the host Hornets (3-12, 2-9).

Nonleague

West Valley 66, Lakeland 54: Brady Bagby poured in 23 points, Darian Vandermark scored all 12 of his points in the second half to help the Eagles (14-2) pull away late against the host Hawks (3-14) in Rathdrum.

Coeur d’Alene Charter 48, Valley Christian 45: Bryan Smith hit a 3-pointer with 0.2 seconds left in regulation to lift the host Panthers (13-2) to a win over Valley Christian. Greg Roman had a game-high 16 points and Smith added 12 for CdA Charter.
