Pierce County woman crowned Miss Washington
TACOMA — Brittney Henry of Edgewood, Pierce County, is the 2011 Miss Washington and will represent the state in January at the Miss America 2012 pageant in Las Vegas.
The News Tribune reports the 24-year-old won the $10,000 scholarship pageant Saturday night. Organizer Peggy Miller says Henry’s platform is “promoting higher education for low-income families.”
Henry graduated in 2009 from California State University, Sacramento. She graduated from Puyallup High School in 2005.
Runners-up: Fourth, Daniela Ferrell, Miss Auburn; third, Genay Tucker, Miss Spokane; second, Kara Jo Morris, Miss Lewis County; and first, Nicole Erhardt, Miss Tahoma.
