19-year-old killed in car accident near Kellogg

A 19-year-old Idaho man was killed on Saturday when the car he was riding in ran off the Coeur d’Alene River Road near Kellogg, hit a rock embankment and overturned.

Anthony M. Legard was a passenger in a Mitsubishi Lancer driven by Chad Ward, 21, of Kellogg, who failed to negotiate a curve at milepost 5 at about 4:19 p.m., according to a report by the Idaho State Police.

Legard was pronounced dead at the scene.

  Sad day for the families. Neither boy was using a seat belt. The road is poorly maintained so it is easy to get going a bit too fast.
