Westbound commuters backed up on I-90
Traffic on Interstate 90 westbound was backed up this morning in East Spokane, the first morning commute with a temporary lane reduction for construction work.
A job to repair overpass bridges at Havana and Altamont streets got underway overnight with traffic being reduced to two lanes westbound through Aug. 4.
Drivers were exiting the freeway at Broadway Avenue and Fancher Way to get out of the back up, and that was helping ease congestion. The back up extended to about the Broadway exit.
