Ephrata woman wins raffle house

An Ephrata, Wash., woman won a house worth $250,000 in the North Idaho College Really BIG Raffle on Wednesday.

The home, won by Donna Wallar, was built by students in the college’s carpentry program and was the grand prize in the 18th annual fundraiser, according to an NIC Foundation news release. Paul Wedeberg, of Snohomish, Wash., won first prize, a $20,000 car. The second prize, a $10,000 boat, was won by Jennifer Erickson of Coeur d’Alene, while Lynda Osburn, of Spokane Valley, walked away with the third prize, a $3,500 travel package. Justin Millette, of Spirit Lake, took fourth, a $2,000 shopping spree.

Additional prizes, ranging from a $500 Super 1 gift card to a Keurig coffee system, went to Richard Coleman, of Spokane Valley; Doug and Alyson Wayman, of Coeur d’Alene; Beverly Hawker, of Otis Orchards; William P. Howard, of Spokane; and Richard and Susan Andrews, of Hayden. 

Prizes totaling $285,000 were raffled, the news release said. About $218,000 in proceeds will go to the NIC Foundation. About 5,000 tickets were sold.

Throughout the last 18 years, the foundation has generated proceeds of nearly $3 million, which support student needs, programs and equipment.
