Fairfield City Council – Council members discussed grant applications and voted to approve changes to the city’s personnel policy. The six-year Transportation Improvement Plan was adopted. Spokane Valley Fire Department – Construction on the department’s training tower is expected to be complete next week. The number of calls is up 5 percent year to date and EMS calls are helping drive the increase. The department is running below budget so far this year but several construction bills have yet to be paid. The department’s new web site had a successful debut and the department has been getting positive feedback. Commissioners voted unanimously to approve a new ethics policy.
