Idaho State Police were investigating a rollover accident that occurred Saturday morning on Interstate 90 near Post Falls.

About 9 a.m., Christine M. Priel, 43, of Post Falls, was westbound in a Ford Contour when she swerved to avoid colliding with another vehicle, causing her own vehicle to overturn, police said.

Priel, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’Alene, where she was treated and released.

A motorcyclist was airlifted to a downtown Spokane hospital Saturday afternoon after a collision on U.S. Highway 2 near Bailey Road, 17 miles north of Spokane.

Larry J. Durheim, 58, of Mead, was taken to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, where he remained in critical condition Saturday night.

He was riding a Harley-Davidson northbound when police say he attempted an improper pass. Donna L. Rogers, 42, of Spokane, was also northbound in a Ford Thunderbird. As she turned west toward Bailey Road, Durheim tried to pass her and the two collided in the southbound lane, the Washington State Patrol said.

Rogers was uninjured in the crash, which occurred about 1:30 p.m., police said.

Firm gets money for DOE delays

A federal court has awarded Energy Northwest $48.7 million in damages from the Department of Energy for delays in opening a Nevada nuclear repository.

The money reimburses Energy Northwest for building and licensing a used fuel storage area at the Columbia Generating Station in Richland.

The ruling came nearly five years after the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals determined that DOE breached its contract for failing to accept the utility’s used nuclear fuel.
