Jobs not forthcoming

Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers recently asked in her mass-distributed video, “Mr. President, where are all the jobs?” Good question. The Bureau of Labor and Statistics shows that during the Bush years, 4.5 million American jobs were vaporized and 47,000 factories moved overseas. These same corporations were given tax incentives and subsidies to relocate. No other country does business like this.

She says that government “should move out of the way” of business. But when big corporations operate without oversight, we witness devastating problems. Big oil and Wall Street are good examples.

Her idea of job creation removes all regulation and gives carte blanche to corporations to destroy our land, pollute our air, slaughter wages and eliminate labor rights. Medicare and Social Security are on her chopping block, too. McMorris Rodgers speaks negatively of increased taxes, completely ignoring that the wealthiest people and corporations aren’t paying their share.

Finally, spending cuts begin with ending wars that we should have never entered. Last year alone they cost $157 billion. This amount grows monstrously by the second.

McMorris Rodgers is seemingly bought and paid for by the force that begs to take us all down. Truthful leadership … certainly not.
