Carjacking suspects arrested after fiery crash
Four juveniles crashed a stolen car in a high-speed chase with police early today, officials said.
The teenagers are believed to have been involved in a gunpoint carjacking early Tuesday in the 1500 block of East Boone Avenue.
Police were alerted this morning to people in a car brandishing a weapon near East 5th Avenue and South Rebecca Street. Officers pursued the car but backed off when the driver reached speeds of about 70 mph on Freya Street, police said.
Officers lost sight of the vehicle as it crested the hill, “only to come over the top of the hill and see the vehicle crashed into a building and the four suspects fleeing,” according to a police news release.
The car burst into flames. Patrol officers and a K-9 helped tracked the suspects within a half an hour of the crash. None was injured in the crash but two were treated for dog bites at local hospitals.
The suspects, three boys and a girl, were booked into Spokane County Juvenile Detention for possession of stolen property. The gun stolen during the carjacking was recovered.

Once in a while it’s good for stupid, out of control teenagers to get a dog bite or two. Bet that will have more impact then the jail time, unless they’re connected, they will serve.

juvenile sentences in this state are a joke. Unless they are charged as adults, I bet they don’t see more than a couple weeks in detention. You can thank our state legislatures who set the sentencing guides.

If they live at home the parents should face consequences as well.

Hcklbery- unfortunately, most kids who do this stuff- have parents that are criminals, drug addicts or otherwise don’t care. And there is no law that would punish the parents.

Too bad our schools and teachers failed these kids!

What a bad ending to a terrible crime.
The young man that was carjacked had his vehicle ruined, has 8 staples holding his skull together and a broken nose from the beating that he took, has a big hospital bill for his injuries, will have a long recovery time for his injuries, will likely face higher insurance premiums, may be sued by the owner of the building that was damaged, and all because some punks wanted to be gangstas…
The only good part of the story is that the weapon was recovered; oh, and the lil’ gangstas were caught. And biten…

Our schools and teachers have been failing their entrusted mandates for more than half a century, progressively worse and worse each following decade till now where high school GRADUATES can’t even read nor write.
