Crews respond to house fire in north Spokane
Spokane fire crews responded to a house fire near a clothes dryer at 11:03 a.m. Saturday in north Spokane.
According to a Spokane Fire Department news release, the home’s occupant said the fire was in the basement of the one-story wood-framed residence at 5124 N. Ash St.
The fire quickly moved to the first floor of the home, fire officials said, and into the attic before firefighters got it under control.
No one was injured, and the Red Cross is helping the home’s residents.
The Spokane Fire Department’s Special Investigation Unit is investigating the cause of the blaze. Damage, confined to the basement, main floor and attic, is estimated at $10,000.
