M’s need to clean house

Do the Seattle Mariners stink? You can smell the strong odor from Seattle to Billings.

History of the Mariners: They began play in 1977 and have never hit the baseball jackpot.

As the sky is falling, their management and broadcasters sicken us with replays of the 116 wins in 2001 and Ken Griffey’s slide to the plate and catch off the Kingdome wall. It’s kind of like Spokane dredging up the glories Expo ’74 when there is currently zilch positive to report in the Lilac City.

After 35 years of dismal baseball performance, wouldn’t you think they would clean house at the head shed? Nada, they keep on the payroll Howard Lincoln, Chuck Armstrong and the guy with the Z name I can’t pronounce while we watch Mariners alumni tearing up the leagues with other teams. Then we witness the pitiful M’s current players and field management plunge to the basement of baseball. Out of 30 teams, they own the bottom of the barrel in hitting.

An old saying in baseball that teaches patience is, “Take two and hit to right.” Maybe it’s time to drop the bat and turn off the TV.
