Washington State’s men’s basketball team will meet Pepperdine in the seventh annual Cougar Hardwood Classic at KeyArena in Seattle, the Cougars announced Thursday.

The Dec. 22 game will be the fifth meeting between the teams but the first since Dec. 13, 1986, an 82-77 Cougars win. The teams have split four previous games.

WSU is coming off a trip to the National Invitation Tournament semifinals. Coach Ken Bone lost Klay Thompson and DeAngelo Casto to the professional ranks, but five players return who started at least nine games.

WSU is 6-0 in the tournament.
